A survey of image registraion techniques

Presented by: Jiangang Yu

ABSTRACT: Registration is a fundamental task in image processing used to match two or more pictures, for example, at different times, from different sensors or from different viewpoints. The object of image registration is to bring the input image into alignment with the base image by applying a spatial transformation to the input image. In this presentation,I will introduce image registration conceptually, and then presents all the popular method to implement image registration and classifies them into different classifications by establishing the relationship between the distortions in the image and the type of registration techniques which are most suitable.
